TCOM attending "digital technology businesses going out into the world" conference

On 23 Feb 2023, in Hanoi, " digital technology businesses going out into the world" conference organized by Ministry of Infomation and communications was offically opened.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, minister Nguyen Manh Hung stated that if digital technology businesses wanted to go out into the world, the leaders had to experience firsthand. The market with a small number of businesses had more opportunities.

At the conference, TCOM's BOD with other technology companies discussed and collaborated in order to let vietnamese technologies go out into the world. According to statistics of International Telecommunication Union, around the world about 49 % of the population ( 4 billions out of 8 billions people) did not get access to the internet. This was an opportunity for vietnamese digital technology companies to expand the market and used knowlege and technology to solve digital transformation problems in many countries, accelerating the process of building the digital world.

Taking Viettel's story - where he had over 30-years of experience in terms of leading the company with success in many international markets as an example, minister Hung pointed out the investment principles in international markets: if the highest leaders did not discover a market, Viettel could not develop in the market. He also stated that even if the principles were applied, the deployment was still very difficult with only 1 out of 10 companies being successful.

Despite the difficulties, he supposed that the top leaders of companies still needed to discover a market. This is different from companies already being sucessful in international markets. "These companies let employees to discover a market. If we did the same thing, we would failed." He said

With the theme of Vietnamese digital technology businesses: global digital collaboration - trusted partners to build digital world, at the opening ceremony, mr Nguyen Thien Nghia, deputy director of  industry department ICT, ministry of Infomation and Communications stated that: The global tech market had many opportunites.In fact, the market sizes of Vietnam were small in comparison to the human scale in IT sector in the present and in the future. Digital technology businesses of Vietnam not only had  active and creative human resouce but also were competitive in price compared to global tech market. This was the reason why digital technology companies in Vietnam needed to develop in international market and brought knowledge and technology to the market.

 

"Go together" was one of the ways that ministry of Information and communications guided for tech companies. Big companies helped small companies and experienced businesses supported new ones. Know how and strategies to conquer the global market of leading companies were valuable lessons that helped domestic tech business become more confident when entering the international market.

Being the lead tech company in Vietnam with the role of leading Vietnamese IT sector in a globalized world with the message " FPT pioneer entering global market - rising to intellectual heights of Vietnam to make vietnam even stronger" mr Truong Gia Binh, FPT chairman shared the mark of Vietnam on global digital map, from entering Indian market 20 years ago to being present in 29 countries right now. The revenue at global market was 1 billon USD, increasing 25,000 times with human resouce being 27.000, which increased  900 times.

Sharing about the lessons learned in the journey to the international market of the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Viettel), Mr. Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of the Group said: Starting to go abroad Since 2006, Viettel has conquered 10 markets with foreign investment service revenue reaching nearly 3 billion USD. Success that came from challenges from reality was drawn by Viettel as a concrete lesson to always learn and research to deeply understand the culture, people, and political system of the invested countries; always respect the law; must have the core values ​​of the business, bring the best things we have to global market  as well as make a difference to compete.

Assessing Vietnam as a country with rapid development, Mr. Pavel Poskakukhin, co-chair of the Digital Subcommittee of the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham), said: With a young and knowledgeable population, Vietnamese technology enterprises had many opportunities in the European market, especially in terms of providing business solutions in the fields of e-commerce, fintech...

In the presentation of the representative of the Indian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (Incham), Mr. Ravi Vajpayee made recommendations on the needs and potentials of the current  technology market. High quality IT human resouce was an important factor to determine the success of the business when going to the international market.

Within the framework of the Conference, the Ministry of Information and Communications officially established and launched the "Consulting Group to support digital technology businesses going out into the world" to coordinate with relevant agencies in implementing programs helping Vietnamese technology enterprises enter global market and develop business activities in the market..
